Alas Purwo National Park

ALAS PURWO NATIONAL PARK
Located at southern tip of Blambangan peninsula it has called Alas purwo, Alas mean forest and Purwo mean first. It is deriving from Javanese language, according to mythology where the land first comes out of the ocean. Alas purwo has nice beaches, wildlife nature, savannah desert, mangrove, and lowland monsoon forest.
A Hindu’s temple right in the park “Pura giri seloka” attracting many Hindust pilgrims everyday comes to this forest.
The park is 434. A 2 square km occupies the whole of the Blambangan peninsula; Alas Purwo has little population of ajag wild dogs, jungle fowl, leaf monkeys, muntjac deer, sambar deer and leopards (black panthers) also java tiger.
